Default Bad Monks

I enjoy farming the UW with my 55 monk and my SS/SV necro. I sometimes play late at night on the American Servers and end up playing with who are obviously foreign players. I don't have a problem with this, except when I partner with a 55 monk that is foreign and ditches me at the smites.

They usually bring Zealots and Shield of Judgement (no Spell Breaker) and I help them kill the cows and octopuses. When we reach the smites, they take off and leave me hangin. They obviously just want the smites to themselves. You would think I'd learn my lesson but I've done it twice to give these foreign players the benefit of the doubt.

Have any of you monks heard of this? What solutions do you have? It doesnt make the 55 monks look good. Should I have posted this on the nec board? thanks for your input.

Run around to find a nightmare and drag it back to towards them. As soon as they sniff the monk it's rend time. Game over for the monk. Agroing a couple Coldfires with their maestroms is fun too.

Quite possibly the most ignorant "advice" of the week.

They run ahead of the ss/sv so that the ss/sv can't get past the smites. Therefore the ss nec would be trapped behind the first group of smites, and if he tried to kill the smites he would die. People just want ecto to themselves.

Having heard alot of these stories, I was very tentative about teaming up with a 55 monk the first time yesterday. But we were one loss from losing favor, so why not? Sure enough, we clear the cows and octopi, and she collects the last aataxe and runs it right to me. Bang Bang-I'm lying dead.

"No Rez- Bye"

So I am getting ready to chalk it up to experience- at least I got to watch how she avoided the rends, etc.- and I notice that there is gold on the ground. She picks it up "Your party shares 124 gold". Hmm. Thats 62 for me. So I stick around. I got a good education in how the 55 kills smites while avoiding the others, while siphoning off half the gold she picked up. I think she figured it out about halfway through- she said "why are you still here?"

After about 15 minutes, I had collected about 1500 gold for lying dead (money she did not get). Maybe this is the new farming- hook up with a scamming monk- die- have dinner- come back- repeat...

We lost favor shortly after getting in, so I probably would not have been able to find a good group anyway.

Plus, she didn't pull a single ecto while I was lying there. So, all in all, lemonade out of lemons for me that time. If you have the time, not a bad way to make money for no effort.

I would start doing screen shots before going in to UW getting the monks intention in the party and if they turn out to be wrong, get screen shots and report them to Anet for scamming.

Nice, way to stick it to them
Although usually when I go to UW I play the role of the 55 monk, but if I were you, I would stick with them, and try to discredit them in ToA so noone else gets screwed.

Would and do are two different things. Good strategy, though. *gives you a cookie*

Don't think Anet takes action on this, and I'm pretty sure all of these scamming Monks are aware by now.

I have an SS/SV and I just don't do two man teams anymore. I've had mostly good expereinces, but I don't need the frustration of teaming up with scammers. I have more fun on larger teams anyway. I like talking to people and having fun. Most of the two man teams I've done, it was all business.
